Terms & Refund Policy
Inkflow Studio. Please read before you buy. Last updated 27 October 2026.
1. Free samples: try before you buy
The free ULTRA LoRA and any other free sample are provided free of charge and “as is”, with no warranty of any kind, so you can test the quality, format and compatibility of our models on your own system before you purchase. Downloading a free sample costs you nothing and creates no obligation. Its whole purpose is to let you confirm the product works for you first.
2. Payments, cancellations and refunds
This section was updated on 27 October 2026.
Prices are shown before you pay and are taken up front through our payment provider, Stripe. Nothing is made until your payment has arrived. This section explains, product by product, when you are refunded, how the money comes back to you, and what happens when you cancel. Nothing in it affects your statutory rights (see 2.15).
2.1 One-off orders: delivered or refunded in full
Books, series, manuals and technical documents, editor reports, translations, document revisions, sample chapters, audiobooks, promo videos, packs and creator packs are each paid for once. Every one of these orders is either delivered or refunded in full. There is no third outcome. In practice:
- Written work (books, series, manuals, technical documents, editor reports, translations, document revisions and sample chapters): if production stalls or fails, we restart it automatically up to three times. If it still cannot be delivered, the whole price is refunded automatically.
- Audiobook orders: refunded automatically if production fails, or if the audiobook has not been delivered within 7 days of your order.
- Packs (cast, world and sample packs): refunded automatically if production fails, or if the pack has not been delivered within 72 hours of your order.
- Promo videos: refunded automatically if the video fails, or if it is not ready after about 12 hours of rendering (up to 36 hours while the narrator voice is being recorded). As a final safeguard, any promo video still not delivered 40 hours after the order is refunded.
- Creator packs: refunded automatically if the set is no longer available or cannot be packaged for you.
- Products we have withdrawn: any paid order for a product that is no longer made is refunded, never left waiting.
- Music ordered through our API: paid from your credit balance, and returned to that balance if the track cannot be made.
We email you when an automatic refund is issued. If an automatic refund does not go through, our system keeps retrying it and alerts a member of our team to make it by hand.
2.2 How refunds are paid back
- Paid by card or another Stripe payment method: the refund goes back to the same payment method through Stripe. We issue it as soon as the order is refunded; it usually shows on your statement within 5 to 10 working days, depending on your bank.
- Paid from your Inkflow credit balance: the refund goes back to the same credit balance and can be used straight away. It is not paid out as cash (see 2.12).
- A refund is for the amount you paid, less any part of it we have already refunded.
2.3 Cancelling a one-off order
Production starts as soon as your payment arrives, so there is no cancel button on a paid order. If you want to stop an order, email us at [email protected].
- If we cancel a paid order before it is delivered, we refund it in full and email you to confirm.
- A delivered order cannot be cancelled. If something is wrong with it, contact us: we may refund all or part of the price, and your statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed content always apply (see 2.15).
- An order paid from your credit balance can only be refunded in full, back to that balance.
2.4 Orders you do not pay for, and your uploaded files
If you leave the checkout without paying, nothing is charged and nothing is made. A Stripe checkout link expires within 24 hours. Files you uploaded for an order you never paid for are deleted 48 hours after the order was created. Files you uploaded for an order that has been delivered, refunded or cancelled are deleted 30 days after that.
2.5 Document revision and translation: priced by length. Editor reports: one flat price
Document revision and translation are priced by the length of your document (document revision is £39.99 per 30,000 words). The editor report is not priced by length: it is one flat price, £39.99 per manuscript, whatever its length. The price is fixed before you pay, and we never take more money for an order without your agreement. If the work cannot be delivered, it is refunded in full as described in 2.1.
If your document is longer than the length you paid for, we revise the length paid for plus about 10%, return the rest unrevised in a separate file, and tell you on your order page and in your delivery email what was not revised and how to order a revision of the rest, priced by its length as above.
Once your promo video has been delivered you can ask us to re-render individual scenes. Scene edits are free: they are part of the order you have already paid for, and each order includes up to 5 edits. An edit that fails does not use up one of your 5, but each order allows up to 3 failed attempts in all (8 attempts at most, successful or not), and up to 4 attempts a day. One edit is made at a time: ask for the next once the last has finished. Your delivered video stays available while an edit is made. Scene edits are not available on an order that has been refunded or cancelled.
If we cannot honour a Priority render you paid for, the £4.99 (or what you paid for it in your own currency) is refunded automatically, to your card or credit balance, whichever you paid with.
2.7 Audiobooks and narration
- Audiobook orders are covered by 2.1: delivered, or refunded in full.
- Narration included in a paid plan is counted in chapters by length: each 36,000 characters (about 6,000 words) counts as one narrated chapter. A chapter is only counted when its narration is complete. If some passages cannot be narrated, nothing is counted and you can generate the chapter again to finish it. The narration allowance renews with your plan (see 2.8).
2.8 Subscriptions: cancelling, pausing and changing plan
- Cancel any time from your billing page. You are not charged again. Your plan stays fully active until the end of the period you have paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan. We do not refund the part of the period that is left. You can change your mind and keep your plan any time before that date. Your books stay in your account.
- Monthly allowance. Your word allowance (and narration allowance, where your plan has one) renews each time a renewal payment succeeds. Unused words do not roll over to the next period.
- Pausing. While a subscription is paused you are not billed, and no charges build up to be paid later. The account moves to the free plan’s limits as soon as you pause, and we do not refund the part of the period that is left. Your books are kept. When you resume, your plan comes back; words you had already used in that period still count.
- Upgrading. Plan changes are made in the billing portal run by Stripe, which handles any change to what you are charged. When you move to a bigger plan part-way through a period, the difference between the two plans’ allowances is added once Stripe confirms the change, and the new plan’s full allowance starts at your next renewal.
- Downgrading. A move to a smaller plan takes effect at your next renewal. Nothing is taken away part-way through the period you have paid for.
2.9 Failed subscription payments
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may try it again. Your allowance only renews when a renewal payment succeeds. If the payments keep failing and the subscription ends, your account moves to the free plan, and your books stay in your account. You can update your card on your billing page.
2.10 Word top-ups
- A top-up is £9.99 for 50,000 AI words, added to your current allowance once Stripe confirms your payment.
- Top-ups are for paid plans only. A free account cannot buy one.
- Top-up words last until your next successful renewal, when your allowance goes back to your plan’s own figure: unused top-up words do not roll over. If you cancel or pause before then, unused top-up words stay with your account.
- We do not refund top-up words once they have been added to your account, except where the law gives you a right to a refund (see 2.15).
2.11 The free plan and free tools
The free plan costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund. It includes 10,000 AI words for one book of up to three chapters, plus up to 2,000 extra words only to finish the chapter you are writing. It is a one-off allowance and does not renew. Planning a series is free and does not use your word allowance; the number of plans you can make each day is limited. Free samples are covered by section 1.
2.12 Credit balance
- An Inkflow credit balance belongs to an API key. It is topped up through Stripe (from £5 to £2,000 at a time), by a one-time promotional code, by refunds of orders paid from it, and, for creators, by their share of sales (see 2.14).
- Credit can only be spent on Inkflow orders. It is not cash and cannot be withdrawn, and promotional credit has no cash value. The one exception is a creator’s earnings from sales and productions, which the creator can ask us to pay out as a monthly cash payment, except any part paid for with promotional credit (see 2.14). Credit does not expire.
- Orders paid from credit are made, delivered and refunded exactly like orders paid by card, and any refund goes back to the balance (see 2.2).
2.13 Downloadable LoRA, model and pack purchases
Our LoRA models, character and prop packs and other downloadable model files work on your own computer the moment you download them, and a downloaded file cannot be handed back. So once a pack has been delivered and made available for you to download, we do not refund it simply because you have changed your mind. The free sample in section 1 exists so you can test first.
- If a pack cannot be produced or is not delivered within 72 hours, it is refunded in full (see 2.1).
- If a file fails to download or arrives corrupt, contact us and we will supply the correct file at no charge.
- When you buy a pack on our samples page, you are asked to tick a box confirming that you understand paid downloads are non-refundable once downloaded, and a second box asking us to start straight away (see 2.15). Packs bought through our API are asked on the Stripe payment page where it shows that request. Either way, your rights for faulty or misdescribed content under 2.15 are not affected.
2.14 Creator marketplace: buyer refunds and creator earnings
- Buyers of a creator pack are covered by 2.1 to 2.3: if the set cannot be delivered, the buyer is refunded in full.
- Creators earn 85% of each set sale. The share is credited once the buyer’s files have been delivered, not when the buyer pays. A creator who lists with an Inkflow API key has the share added to that key’s credit balance, and can ask us for a monthly cash payout instead; other creators are paid monthly, by hand, to their payout email.
- Full refunds. If a sale is refunded in full, the creator’s whole share of it is taken back, even if it has already been spent. If that takes the creator’s balance below zero, the difference is recovered from later earnings.
- Production royalty. When a creator’s model is used in a paid promo video we make, the creator earns 25% of that production’s revenue, but only if the listing is approved, Inkflow has recorded a quality check, the model file matches what was listed, and the model was trained to at least 4,500 steps (a model whose training steps are unknown never qualifies). It is credited when the video is delivered, on the price we actually kept: partial refunds already made, including a refunded Priority render, are deducted first. If several qualifying models are used, the 25% is split equally between them. It is paid once per order and model, and taken back if the order is refunded. A royalty on a production paid in a currency other than pounds is paid out by hand rather than added to a credit balance.
- Partial refunds. If part of an order is refunded, the same fraction of each creator share of it (a set sale or a production royalty) is taken back, once per refund. If the order is later refunded in full, what is left of the share is taken back.
- Promotional credit. Where a sale or production was paid for with promotional credit, that part of the creator’s earning stays as Inkflow credit and is never paid out in cash.
2.15 Your legal rights (UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)
If you are a consumer, you normally have 14 days to cancel a contract you make with us online. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, the law ends that right once supply has begun, but only if you expressly asked for supply to start straight away and acknowledged that you would lose the right to cancel.
Every checkout on our website (books, series, documents, translations, editor reports, audiobooks, promo videos, packs, subscriptions and word top-ups) asks for that request and acknowledgement before you pay: an unticked “Start now” box beside the pay button, which stays disabled until you tick it. We keep a record of your request with the time you gave it, and confirm it in the payment email we send you. Once you have given it, your 14-day right to cancel ends when delivery begins, or, for a subscription or a word top-up, when access begins and you start using it.
Where our Stripe payment page asks you to accept the same request (for example for an order placed through our API or an AI assistant), accepting it there has the same effect. If you bought without giving that request and acknowledgement, you keep your 14-day right to cancel: email us at [email protected] within 14 days of buying and we will handle your cancellation in line with the Regulations.
Whatever you buy, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights if what we deliver is faulty or not as described.
3. Licence
Purchased LoRA / model files come with a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free commercial licence: pay once, use forever, owe nothing per use. You may not resell or redistribute the file itself; the licence is for your own creative use.
3.1 Who owns the writing
Text that Inkflow writes for you (books, chapters, manuals, translations and other written work) isyours to use under these terms, including commercially. We claim no ownership of it and we never sell it.
The text is generated by AI, and copyright in AI-generated text is limited. In the United States, text generated purely by AI is not protected by copyright, although your own edits, additions and arrangement of it can be. In the United Kingdom, the law on computer-generated works is under review. Whether your book is protected by copyright therefore depends on your own contribution and on the law where you publish. This is general information, not legal advice.
4. Contact
Questions before you buy? Email [email protected]. We would always rather answer a question up front than have an unhappy customer.

Reviewer codes
We sometimes send a reviewer code to a writing club, review site, company or person so they can try Inkflow properly. A reviewer code has no cash value: it cannot be exchanged for money, credit or another product, and it cannot be sold or transferred.
- Each code can be used once, on one account, and each account can redeem one code.
- A code must be redeemed within 120 days of being sent. We may withdraw a code that has not been redeemed.
- For 60 days from redemption the account gets one book (the first book it writes in after redeeming) with up to 100 chapters, beyond the free plan’s limits, and 150,000 AI words to write it. That book downloads in full as Word, EPUB or PDF, then and afterwards.
- When the 60 days end the account returns to its usual plan. Nothing is deleted and your books stay readable.
- No positive review is required, and access never depends on what you say. If you publish a review, please say that you received free access.
Affiliate programme
Affiliates earn 20% of the first subscription payment of each customer they refer, paid once, after a 14-day hold; a refund or a cancellation before any book is written within those 14 days means no commission is due, and after 14 days it stands. Payouts are made by hand once a month from £20, with no self-referral and a duty to say clearly that their link earns a commission. The full terms are on our affiliate programme page.
Acceptable use
INKFLOW writes fiction, and fiction goes to dark places: crime, war, grief and violence are the ordinary furniture of novels. What follows is not about subject matter. It is about a short list of things we will not generate, host or help you publish, whatever the framing.
You may not use INKFLOW to create, store or distribute:
- Explicit sexual content. INKFLOW does not produce explicit sexual content. Romance is welcome, and intimacy is written closed door: the scene cuts away before anything explicit, in the same way for every relationship. A brief, order or request that asks for explicit sexual content is refused, and so is a request to make a scene explicit. There is never any sexualised depiction of a person who is or appears to be a minor. This is enforced in the engine, not merely asked for.
- Child sexual abuse material. Any attempt is reported to the authorities and the account is closed permanently and without refund.
- Content that incites or glorifies violence against a real person or a real group, or that promotes terrorism or violent extremism.
- Harassment of a real, identifiable person, including sexual harassment, threats, and content designed to humiliate someone who exists.
- Hate speech attacking people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or serious disease.
- Content promoting self-harm or suicide, or giving instructions for either.
- Deceptive impersonation: passing work off as written or endorsed by a real person, or presenting generated material as a genuine record, document or testimony.
- Illegal instruction: practical guidance for making weapons, drugs or explosives, or for committing a crime.
- Deliberate infringement of someone else’s copyright, including reproducing a substantial part of an existing work.
Reporting content
Every screen that shows generated text carries a Report this content control. It opens in the app; you never have to leave it, email anyone, or find a support page. The text you were looking at is sent with the report so we can see exactly what you saw, and a person reads it. Reports are what we use to tighten the filters, so a report is genuinely more useful to us than a complaint.
What happens when someone breaks these rules
We remove the content. For a first, apparently careless breach we will usually say so and leave the account open. For deliberate or repeated breaches, and immediately for anything involving children, we close the account. We do not refund a closed account where the closure was caused by content in this list.
